Candle Care Tips: Get the Most fromYour Beeswax Candle
Follow these simple tips to extend the life of your candle and minimize dripping:

Lighting

  • Always trim the wick to 1⁄4” before lighting.

  • Light the base of the wick and hold the flame until wax begins to melt. Lighting only the tip may cause the flame to go out.

Burning

  • Burn your candle on a heat-safe surface and never leave it unattended.

  • Due to the unique shape of the Lotus candle, extended burning during the first few uses may naturally cause some dripping. To minimize this, follow these steps to create a proper burn tunnel:

  • 1st Burn: Burn for 60–90 minutes until the wax pool in the small circle at the top is fully melted.

    1. 2nd Burn: Burn for 45–60 minutes.

    2. 3rd Burn: Burn for about 1 hour.

  • After these initial burns, you can safely enjoy longer burn times as the candle will continue to burn downward evenly.

  • Keep away from drafts or fans, as moving air can cause uneven burning and dripping.

Extinguishing

  • Blowing out your candle can create excess smoke. For a cleaner finish, use a candle snuffer or gently dip the wick into the melted wax using a wick dipper, skewer, or toothpick.

  • If the candle is nearly fully melted at the base, avoid dipping the wick as it could tip over.

Care

  • You may find a natural frosty or powdery film that can form on pure beeswax candles. It’s called “bloom” and is a sign of authenticity and high quality—just gently buff with a cloth if you prefer a shinier look.
